What Others are Saying about RC

“RC Weslowski is a dynamic and veteran voice on the Canadian spoken word poetry scene. His poetry and performances continue to encourage the spoken word community to push the boundaries of this art form. I have found bravery and inspiration from witnessing RC’s work and am grateful for any chance I get to work and learn from him.”
~ Mary Pinkoski, Poet Laureate of Edmonton

“RC Weslowski twists your perception, tangling words and sounds to playfully break open your worldview and lodge a piece of wisdom in your heart forever.” “He’s the only artist I’ve ever seen people walk out on and give a standing ovation for the same performance. His work demands an emotional response.”
~ Missie Peters, Executive Director, Victoria Spoken Word Festival and creator of the hit Fringe Theatre show “Where’s My Flying Car?”

“RC Weslowski is a spoken word poetry and performance wizard, able to blend emotion, theory and idea together in a way that creates language magic, which he then uses to make the world a kinder, more loving place . He is a master of surrealist poetry, a big hearted human, and the work he has done in creating a space for youth poets to also express their truest selves in this country is a thing of pure beauty. I am indebted to his friendship, his wisdom and all around brilliance.”
~ Ikenna ‘OpenSecret’ Onyegbula, 2014 World Poetry Slam Champion

“RC Weslowski is one of the most entertaining and challenging slammers out there. Challenging, not because he is a purveyor of hard truths per se but because he is a purveyor of THE hard truth that experimentation is the oxygen which all great art breathes. And entertaining because he could push the Mona Lisa all the way into gales of uproarious laughter. Don’t miss this monster.”
~ Matthew Conley, Executive Director, Tucson Poetry Festival

“RC takes audiences to places they never knew existed, places they never wanted to go in the first place but then never want to leave. His poetry is not from this planet, RC is an alien life-force blessing earth with his incredible talent. He is able to weave obscure images, beautiful prose with belly-rumbling humour. When poets grow up, they want to be like RC.”
~ Ian Keteku, 2010 World Poetry Slam Champion
